about christina.
I graduated with a degree in Communication Studies.
I have seen the moon rise from the other side of the world. I had a brush with kismet in the Bay of Hanalei. I have seen the world’s poorest children thirst for the world & starve for compassion.
On the flip side, I find myself keeping Pacific Standard Time on the east coast. I have flown on 7 planes in 16 days. I have experienced the power of children that are not just enthralled by knowledge, but inspire teachers to do better, including a twelve-year old prodigy educating the nation’s faculty & bring focus to student-centered classrooms (not curriculum-centered).
I have found myself in the last place my seventeen-year old self would ever imagine. I am back in the Lowcountry, but this time Charleston fits like a glove. Since I have returned, I’ve built a company on the foundations of community-based fundamentals. My recent contributions to Charleston are in the neighborhood of social networking and knowing your neighbor.
CHStweetup is a platform for bringing people offline and in-person. There is no niche, just social people that embrace technology as a means of communication. We have been introduced at Charleston’s plethora of events like Charleston co-work, BarCampCHS, Pecha Kucha, Social Media Club, etc. This is the opportunity to hybrid and support these events that mean most to us.
CHStwestival is a philanthropic benefit for a global initiative. 2010 will be Charleston’s first Twestival to support Concern Worldwide. We look forward to having a successful event for our own Twestival Local.
Beyond these interests, I hope to pitch a show to the Travel Channel, write a book, and continually find fulfillment in making something better than the way I found it. If Architecture for Humanity figures out that I would develop and program for them,“like I give a damn”, then I would drop whatever I was doing to be there.
